MORE THAN A DECADE OF CERTIFIED EXCELLENCE
In 2007 Bates Troy Inc. was one of the first 25 laundries in the world to achieve Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council certification. In August 2016 we were once again certified for an additional three years. That’s more than a decade of third-party, certified excellence and adherence to the very highest standards in the business.
This serves as a testament to our continued commitment to our industries best practices and ensures our clients we are delivering them quality goods with exceptional service.
HLAC Accreditation (2013)
Bates Troy Inc. was re-accredited in August 2013 by the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC) for another three-year certification period.
As we launch our seventh year of accreditation, we are one of less than two dozen laundries in all of North America to have passed three separate inspections, ensuring highest standards for employee and patient safety, linen quality and service and infection prevention.
The 2011 Edition of HLAC Standards cover the complete textile processing cycle, from handling and transporting soiled healthcare textiles, to in-plant processing and delivery back to the customer. The Standards also cover considerations such as facility layout, personnel training, and customer service. Special attention has been directed to OSHA required practices, including Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Standards.
Meeting and exceeding these HLAC Standards and doing so time and time again, for the long-term, indicates that Bates Troy Healthcare Linen Services is delivering the highest possible quality and service to its healthcare clients.
The Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council
The Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC) is a non-profit organization formed for the purpose of inspecting and accrediting laundries processing healthcare textiles for hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities. Becoming accredited is an entirely voluntary process. The Council does not have members, but is comprised of a 12-person Board of Directors who serve on a voluntary basis.
HLAC Mission: To accredit laundries processing healthcare textiles based on the highest standards for patient safety and infection prevention.
The HLAC accreditation process was developed with several industry groups, including:
- American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services (ASHES)
- American Reusable Textiles Association (ARTA)
- Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC)
- International Association for Healthcare Textile Management (IAHTM)
- National Association of Institutional Linen Management (NAILM)
- Textile Rental Services Association of America (TRSA)
